APC Sets Up Restructuring Committee To Be Headed By El-Rufai

The All Progressives Congress [APC] has, on Wednesday, set up a 10 member committee on restructuring.

Elombah.com gathered that the committee will be headed by the Kaduna State governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.

El-Rufai, it could be recalled, recently vehemently kicked against restructuring, saying that there was nothing to restructure in the country.

The APC made the announcement in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi.

The statement said in part:

“The All Progressives Congress (APC) notes that with various agitations on restructuring, the concept has assumed several disparate meanings. 

“In the light of this, at the fifth regular joint APC National Working Committee (NWC) /APC Governors meeting which held on Wednesday, 19th July, 2017, a committee was set up to articulate the Party’s notion on restructuring”.

Other members of the Restructuring Committee are:

1. Governor Rauf Aregbesola, 

2. Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, 

3. Governor Simon Lalong, 

4. Governor Ibikunle Amosun, 

5. Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor, 

6. Sen. Osita Izunaso, 

7. Bolaji Abdullahi, 

8. Hajiya Fatima Balla, and,

9. Senator Olubunmi Adetunmbi.

Recall that the Acting President of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osinbajo has recently assured that the Federal Government is putting finishing touches on policies that will see the country restructured soon.

Prof Osinbajo made the disclosure at the presentation and launch of a book titled “Nigeria: The Restructuring Controversy” in Abuja on Thursday.
