APGA Crisis: Suspended Youth Leader, Nwoga writes forum, blasts Oye
On their effort, they got several court judgement to compel the state government to swear them in but they insisted because Oye has refused to show interest in the case even after several visits by the State chairman to brief him about the situation.
If this should happen during the reign of Umeh/Shinkafi, they would have engaged the Niger state government till they releases APGAs mandate.
Then in Gwagwalada, Obama won the election through his popularity and not any of Oye’s effort. Oye only came in when the election was halted and he found out that Obama was leading.
The victory of Obama in Gwagwalada is without litigations because of the way and matter Oye handled the primaries.
That election further exposes Oye’s incompetence in which he gave nomination to 2 candidates. Saidu is now in court claiming he is the rightful candidate of APGA.
It was also discovered that Oye collects percentage from candidates he takes to Gov Obiano for support during elections.
SACRIFICES FOR APGA
It is on record that sir Victor Umeh sacrificed almost all he worked for to ensure APGA remains in existence. He sold his properties, risked his life and deprived his family to invest on the project, APGA.
As the NYL, I have traveled to over 15 states organizing seminars, workshops and talking to youths about APGA.
The records are there with no funding from anywhere but he was always willing to sacrifice for the growth of APGA. All we get is discouragement with the activities of Oye.
You won’t believe that as the NYL, I don’t have an office space at the national secretariat to do my work and receive my numerous visitors. Am being forced to receive my visitors in gardens and Hotels.
I also do not have a vehicle attached to the office of the National Youth Leader to convey youths to programs. I have to use my personal money to cover expenses incurred while taking our youths to functions in the past 17 months.
I can tell you that there was a certain incident where I was receiving my visitors in the office of a secretariat staff and he came in and asked me to and my guests to leave his office that he is going out. I complained to Oye and H. E Labaran Maku but they never addressed the issue.
A secretariat staff should not occupy an office while a national office begs for a space to do his work.
Also the bus that was supposed to be parked at the national secretariat for official use is permanently parked at Maku’s residence which I was instructed to write an application before it will be released to me to take youths to functions and in most cases it won’t be even released and I will still be made to transport our youths to functions.
It even got to a stage where I was asked to write to inform the secretariat of the coming of my visitor so that they will be scrutinized. What a way to treat the national officer of our party. I have been badly hurt by Oye without provocation.
In the last NWC, he sent his thugs to stop me from entering the national secretariat and I was beaten up when I tried to force myself into the secretariat. This situation has never been addressed anywhere till date.
I have written countless memos which I have there records on ways to move APGA forward but non have ever been discoursed in any APGA meeting.
In all my encounter with Oye, I found out that he is a “food is ready “politician who does not believe in building but will rather sit on someone else success and destroy them not able to build any.
My 1st advice to him was to call for the appraisal of the 2015 elections to give him direction.
– To access the performance of APGA, to know what went wrong and how to correct them,
– to know what our strength and weaknesses are and,
– to work on our weaknesses to prepare the party for subsequent elections.
But he is not interested in such suggestions because he felt that he cannot make money from such exercise. He washes everybody that comes his way and tell of the revelations he had on the elections that have been conducted under his watch.
You all will not be told how the elections have all gone. He is a prophet of doom and should not be trusted.
In July this year, Oye squandered #25m of APGAs money to take a chieftaincy title. A month later, he wasted #15m of still APGAs Money for his wife’s title while APGA suffers.
Umeh never indulged in such wasteful venture when he was N. C. His watch word was sacrifice for APGA. Oye inherited a healthy APGA but left it very sick.
These millions he spent on titles is enough to secure functional party offices in the 36 states + FCT and furnish them. APGA’s account has never been audited under OYE.
He spends APGA’s fund at will because he keeps the cheque book. No account officer in NWC can tell what APGA’s account was like under Oye.
At a time, the office of the national chairman was reduced to the office of a glorified Babi Allah (glorified beggar) where he goes about begging for money for Kola nut and promising people nomination for 2019.
One particular incident happened in Gwagwalada when he visited then he asked his audience to start bringing money for Kola nut and they started donating money as low as #200 just like church offering to Oye which he eventually packed and put in his pocket.
What a disgrace Oye has brought to APGA.
MY OFFENCES
-Speaking out each time he wants to exhibit his anti-youth agenda
-Memos from the office of the national youth leader
-Always telling him the truth even when finds it bitter
-Because am a youth and he doesn’t want my voice to be heard
-He hates people that work hard that will bring reasonable change to APGA
-He doesn’t like it when he feels you know more and can deliver the goods
-my advices to him to be transparent
DISRESPECT FOR NWC MEMBERS
Oye has no respect for his colleagues in NWC. He has consistently called them charlatans, rebels, never do well and all sorts of unprintable names at different fora. He hijacked all their duties and never consulted them on anything concerning the party.
One will ask: why is it that no organ in APGA is independent or functioning and can act on its own. He (Oye) does the work of everybody even wrongly. When he gets to Amawbia, he entertains issues from wards thereby bypassing the ward chairman.
So he does in issues of LGA, states and even in issues of women and Youths .for example, when he went to Orumba North and chose a leader against the wishes of the people thereby creating crisis where there was none.
He became such a tyrant that as a member of NWC, you have to fill a form before you can see Oye in office which once happened to me and I was later told that I can’t see him cos he was busy.
He has also empowered a secretariat staff to do the work of NWC members by sending him to represent the party in IPAC meetings which is exclusive for NWC members in every political party.
He also instructed him to collect cash from aspirants who want to purchase nomination forms which are against our party’s constitution.
Oye wants to destroy APGA and frustrate Gov Obiano’s RE-ELECTION but I for one with never allow him to do that. I will do everything within my power to protect APGA and Gov Obiano from Oye’s wicked plots.
Deacon Olalere who is on the payroll of Oyo state government and also doubled as one of Oye’s S.A whom is equally known as a professional praise-singer and a sycophant who is in the habit of telling a leader what he wants to hear just to get peanuts will always tell Oye that all is well when things have gone really bad.
Deacon Olalere led a kangaroo primary in Ondo where he reported to the NWC that the person who actually won the gubernatorial primaries did not purchase APGAs nomination form and he is not an APGA member but the said person (Sam Adegbite) eventually won the primaries organized by Olalere.
The question now is, who screened the said aspirants before those primaries?
Who authorised that primaries and who gave them waivers to be eligible to stand for that primary?
These and many more questions are begging for answers. Oye and his co-travellers have made APGA a laughing stock.
Oye is a big mistake to APGA and must be stopped before he causes more deliberate damage to our party.
WHERE ARE OUR ELDERS?
This is the time more than ever where the elders of our party should come out and speak to save our dear party from destruction. The electoral fortunes of APGA under OYE have dwindled.
It is clear for everybody to see and urgent surgical operation must be carried out to save our beloved party. An elder do not stay in the house and the goat dies in child birth.
ADVICE TO OUR AMIABLE LEADER, H. E GOV WILLIE OBIANO
Gov OBIANO remains a role model to the teeming youths of our dear party. I made this assertion because of the following reasons:
1. His appointment of a youth, Mark Okoye in his cabinet as a commissioner.
2. The creation of Anambra state road maintenance agency and gave the instruction that only youths should be employed into the agency which he kept and hundreds of youths benefited across the 3 senatorial zones in the state.
3. For training and empowering hundreds of youths in vocational skill acquisition programs. These and many more youth-friendly dispositions formed the basis of my support and appreciation to H. E Gov Obiano even without having a personal relationship with him.
Gov Obiano should as the party’s leader station his trusted men in every organ of the party that will not dilute the truth while reporting back to him.
He should look critically into the allegations against Oye and why Oye decided to scuttle the successful reconciliation he (Gov Obiano) initiated by calling his colleagues rebels to be chastised 48hrs after. H. E Gov Obiano should be contacting with the aggrieved members directly and not through political contractors who will not present the real situation.
Again, H.E. should make out time to be meeting regularly with the elders/leaders of the party to avoid room for unnecessary crisis and bickering. The ultimate goal is to return Gov Obiano come 2018 and it must be achieved.
On a final note, I wish to remind us that political party movement is all about meeting, meeting and meeting. Strategizing, and restrategizing. Scheming, planning, positioning, etc.
Any political party that fails to do the above begins to dies. All these were lacking under Oye. You cannot run a political party without meeting.
Again, Oye was validly suspended and his suspension subsists. He committed worse offences than Chekwas. He unilaterally suspended some state chairmen which still stood by his judgement. His suspension will not be different.
Let me also draw our attention to articles 22(2)(D and I) and articles 20(4). He has also created crisis in virtually are the states and unable to resolve them.
The truth is bitter and I will never stop saying it no matter who feels injured. I will always be prepared to defend everything I stated here with facts to prove them as long as it will correct the damages done by Oye to our beloved party.
I will have to stop here now. My next article will be tagged “the damages Oye have done to APGA”.
This is the truth and nothing but the truth. H. E Gov Willie Obiano and APGA must be saved from Oye’s evil plots.

‘Gate of Hell’ Will Open on Gaza’– Israeli Defence Issues Finally Warning to Hamas

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has issued a fierce warning to Hamas, declaring that Gaza City will face complete destruction if the militant group refuses to accept Israel’s conditions for ending the war.
Katz, in a statement shared on social media on Friday, August 22, 2025, used sharp words to describe Israel’s next steps.
He said the “gates of hell” would open on Hamas if it failed to disarm and release all hostages.
“Soon, the gates of hell will open upon the heads of Hamas’s murderers and rapists in Gaza until they agree to Israel’s conditions,” Katz wrote.
He added that if Hamas refused, Gaza City would suffer the same fate as Rafah and Beit Hanoun, two cities previously flattened by Israeli offensives.
His comments mark one of Israel’s strongest warnings since the escalation of the conflict.
The minister’s remarks came only hours after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that negotiations had been ordered to free the hostages held in Gaza.
Netanyahu explained in a video address that Israel’s military operation in Gaza City would not stop during talks. “Defeating Hamas and releasing our hostages go hand in hand,” he said.
The prime minister also confirmed the mobilisation of 60,000 reservists to join the offensive.
Meanwhile, mediators have been waiting for Israel’s response to a ceasefire plan that Hamas accepted earlier in the week.
The proposal suggests a phased release of hostages, but Israel insists that only a deal ensuring the release of all captives at once will be accepted.
Israel’s hardened stance has sparked growing concern worldwide.
International leaders have cautioned that an expanded assault on Gaza City could worsen the humanitarian disaster already unfolding in the region.
Gaza’s health ministry says more than 62,000 Palestinians, most of them civilians, have been killed since Israel’s military campaign began.
The United Nations considers these figures credible.
The war was triggered by Hamas’s October 2023 attack, which left 1,219 people dead in Israel, mostly civilians.
Since then, the conflict has intensified, with both sides showing little sign of compromise.
With Katz’s threat to turn Gaza City into rubble if demands are not met, the conflict appears to be entering an even deadlier stage.
The international community continues to press for a ceasefire, but Israel’s leadership insists that victory over Hamas and the release of all hostages remain its top priorities.

NAFDAC Raises Alarm as Fake Cowbell Milk Floods Nigerian Markets

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has raised alarm over the circulation of fake Cowbell “Our Milk” 12g sachets in Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Friday, August 22, 2025, the agency explained that the counterfeit milk is packaged to look like the discontinued Cowbell “Our Milk,” but it is unauthorised and unsafe for consumption.
NAFDAC clarified that Promasidor Nigeria Ltd, the authentic manufacturer, stopped producing Cowbell “Our Milk” in September 2023.
The product was replaced with Cowbell “Our Creamy Goodness.” Despite this, fake versions of the old product have found their way into Nigerian markets.

The counterfeit sachets bear the brand name, NAFDAC registration number, and familiar packaging design, making them difficult for unsuspecting buyers to identify as fake.

Fake milk could contain toxic chemicals, harmful additives, or diluted ingredients that endanger human health.
Infants, children, pregnant women, and the elderly are the most vulnerable. Possible dangers include:
- Foodborne illnesses
- Allergic reactions

NAFDAC also called on traders and retailers to stop selling the fake sachets.
The agency assured the public that strict enforcement measures are being taken to remove the counterfeit products from circulation.
This is not the first time Nigerians have faced risks from fake food and beverages.
Experts warn that counterfeit consumables are becoming more sophisticated, often making them difficult to spot.
Consumers are advised to always check product details, expiry dates, and packaging changes announced by manufacturers.
By highlighting the dangers and raising awareness, NAFDAC says it hopes to protect Nigerians from avoidable health crises linked to fake milk products

‘Misplaced Priority’: Peter Obi Blasts FG’s ₦142bn Bus Terminal Project

Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has slammed the Federal Government’s approval of ₦142 billion for the construction of bus terminals across Nigeria, describing it as a reckless misplacement of priorities.
Obi issued a statement on Friday, August 22, via his Official X formerly Twitter platform, warning that the project reflects poor leadership and lack of focus in managing Nigeria’s limited resources. He titled his statement, “₦142 Billion for Bus Terminals.”
According to him, the true test of leadership is how scarce resources are prioritized.
He stressed that investing such a huge amount in bus terminals while critical sectors like healthcare suffer shows a government that is out of touch with citizens’ realities.
Obi said: “The difference between success and failure in any nation is how leaders prioritise resources.
The decision to spend ₦142 billion on six bus terminals exposes a lack of competence and vision. It is a clear sign of poor leadership.”
The Federal Executive Council had recently approved the funds for the construction of one modern bus terminal in each of the six geopolitical zones.
The government described it as part of efforts to modernise transport infrastructure and improve mobility nationwide.
But Obi strongly disagreed. He compared the allocation to healthcare funding, pointing out that the combined budget for all teaching hospitals and federal psychiatric centres in Nigeria is less than ₦100 billion in the 2024 budget.
“This is disturbing,” Obi continued, “because health remains one of the most critical sectors of development. Yet it is underfunded and deteriorating rapidly.
The World Health Organization has reported that over 20 million Nigerians live with mental health conditions.
This is a tragic irony. How can the government ignore this crisis and focus on bus terminals?”
He argued that the health sector, alongside education and poverty reduction programs, deserves priority attention.
Obi insisted that until government spending reflects the real needs of Nigerians, the country will remain trapped in poor governance.
Many Nigerians have also taken to social media to express anger, echoing Obi’s concerns. Critics argue that the decision proves the Federal Government is disconnected from the economic struggles of ordinary citizens.
For Obi, the ₦142 billion project is not just a case of wrong timing.
He sees it as a clear example of governance failure and misplaced priorities.

Why I’ll never encourage my son to visit Nigeria — Taribo West

Former Super Eagles defender, Taribo West, has strongly criticized the treatment of Nigerian football legends, vowing never to encourage his son to set foot in Nigeria due to the neglect shown to the country’s sports heroes after their deaths.
Speaking passionately during the burial ceremony of late goalkeeper Peter Rufai, in a video shared by News Central on Friday, the former Inter Milan star expressed his deep disappointment with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the Lagos State Government for allegedly abandoning Rufai’s family during their time of need.
“It’s disheartening that you have Lagos State, you have the Nigerian Football Association, and yet they drop the entire burden on the family,”West lamented.
He revealed how deeply Rufai’s passing affected him, saying: “My mother passed on, I never shed tears. My father passed on in my hands, I never shed tears. But when Rufai passed on, I had goose pimples all over my body. Tears were rolling down my cheeks. What kind of nation is this?”
West didn’t hold back in recalling similar neglect faced by other late football icons like Stephen Keshi, Rashidi Yekini, and Thompson Oliha.
He condemned the consistent abandonment of ex-players who had sacrificed so much for the country, stating that such treatment discourages him from allowing his children to represent Nigeria in football.
“With this kind of example, I will never advise even my son to put his feet for this country. Send me out! Do we have a Football Federation or a Football Association in this Lagos State? That this hero, this soldier, this football evangelist, has to be treated this way in his family”, he said.
The former defender also highlighted the financial struggles faced by Rufai’s family, revealing that they had to solicit funds from friends and well-wishers just to cover burial costs.
“Could you imagine that the family would be crying just to solicit within our groups to ask for money? That is madness”, he exclaimed, visibly frustrated.
Peter Rufai, fondly known as “Dodo Mayana,”was Nigeria’s first-choice goalkeeper during the nation’s victorious 1994 Africa Cup of Nations campaign and its debut at the FIFA World Cup the same year.
He passed away in July 2025, leaving behind a legacy that has reignited conversations about the lack of support and respect for retired athletes in Nigeria.

Hardship: Man commits suicide in Imo

A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded on Friday morning in Amakpu Okuku community, Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State, as residents discovered the lifeless body of a man in his 50s, identified simply as Odomma, who reportedly died by suicide.
The father of four, who earned a living selling water in jerry cans and buckets, had been battling severe financial hardship, leaving him unable to adequately provide for his family.
Odomma’s body was found hanging in an unfinished building near his home, a grim discovery that shook the community as locals went about their daily routines.
According to residents, Odomma had expressed frustration about his struggles months earlier, threatening to end his life due to the alleged neglect by his wife and children, who reportedly stopped providing him with food because he couldn’t support the household.
A community member, Ikenna, shared insights into Odomma’s despair, saying:
“He said if the situation continued, he would take his life to end the misery. We advised him to report the matter to the village head for settlement. Sadly, he chose this path. Just see how this man ended his life because of money. He could have sold his GP tank or generator to get food, but he decided to take his life. Now others will gather to eat, and he won’t be part of it.”
Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene as dozens of residents rushed to the unfinished building, some capturing videos of the lifeless body on their phones.
Known for his affordable water sales, with prices starting from ₦100, Odomma was regarded as a hardworking man, though visibly depressed in recent months.
Efforts to confirm the incident with the Imo State Police were inconclusive. Police Public Relations Officer Henry Okoye initially promised to verify the details with the Divisional Police Officer in Owerri West but could not be reached for further updates as of the time of this report.
