The recalcitrant Arewa Youth Coalition has on Tuesday dared President Muhammadu Buhari on his speech about the non-negotiability of Nigeria’s unity.

President Buhari had, in his speech following his return from 104-day vacation in London, reiterated his earlier stance that Nigeria’s unity is non-negotiable.

In response, however, the Arewa youths have disagreed with Buhari over Nigeria’s unity.

The group, which had in June issued an order asking Igbo in the north to leave the north on or before October 1 or face violent eviction, has insisted on Biafra referendum.

Spokesman for the group, Mallam Yerima Shettima challenged Buhari today in Gombe where the North East Zone of the coalition held its town hall meeting.

Mallam Yerima Shettima reiterated the position of the group on Biafra agitation.

He insisted that the federal government must conduct a referendum that will see the Igbos settle for a Sovereign State of Biafra.
