ARISE News has announced the immediate and indefinite exclusion of political analyst Anthony Kila from its television network following allegations that he falsified his academic credentials.
The news channel disclosed the decision in a disclaimer issued by its Editorial Board and read during its morning programme, citing an investigative report by Premium Times on Kila’s academic qualifications.
According to ARISE News, it contacted Kila on October 3, 2026, to give him an opportunity to respond to the allegations.
The channel said Kila requested additional time to address the claims but had not provided a response 10 days after the initial contact.
“He asked for more time to respond to the claims. He has not responded 10 days after,” the statement said.
ARISE News added that the allegations had continued to intensify, making it difficult for Kila to continue appearing on its programmes.
“In the circumstances, we find that his contributions to the ARISE News Channel are no longer tenable,” the disclaimer stated.
The organisation said it was unaware of the allegations when Kila appeared on its programmes as a freelance political analyst.
It added that it took matters relating to credibility and integrity seriously and had taken note of the findings published by Premium Times.
“Mr Kila will not be appearing on our networks at any time now or in the future, effective immediately,” the statement added.
The Editorial Board said the decision took effect immediately.
The allegations against Kila remain allegations, and ARISE News’ decision does not, in itself, establish that he falsified his academic credentials.
