Nigerian streamer and content creator Peller has publicly called out Arise TV after an encounter involving one of the station’s presenters, threatening legal action over what he described as an attempt to use him to generate publicity.
In a post making the rounds online, Peller said he would not give the station the attention he believed it was seeking.
“Arise TV, I will sue you people. You want to use me to trend because I helped TVC to blow their News, but I won’t give you the attention,” he said.
Peller went on to praise TVC News while taking a swipe at Arise TV, describing the station as an “olden days” news platform.
“TVC News is the best, Arise TV is an olden days News,” he added.
His remarks have sparked reactions among social media users, with many discussing the apparent tension between the streamer and the television station.
The incident has also renewed conversations about the relationship between Nigerian entertainers, influencers and traditional media, particularly when viral online personalities become subjects of television coverage.
Peller’s threat to sue remains a statement of his intention, and there is no indication from the material provided that a lawsuit has actually been filed.
