Arsenal teenage sensation Max Dowman has officially received three Guinness World Records certificates after a remarkable breakthrough season that saw him make history in both the Premier League and Champions League.
The 16-year-old was presented with the certificates at Arsenal’s training ground by Guinness World Records adjudicator Caitlin Hyem, recognising three extraordinary achievements he recorded before turning 17.
Dowman’s records cover some of the biggest milestones available to a young footballer. He is officially recognised as the youngest player to appear in the UEFA Champions League, the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history and the youngest player to win the Premier League.
His first record came on November 4, 2025, when he came off the bench during Arsenal’s 3-0 Champions League victory over Slavia Prague in the Czech Republic.
At just 15 years and 308 days, Dowman became the youngest player ever to appear in the competition. He also became the first 15-year-old to feature in the Champions League, underlining just how quickly he was progressing through Arsenal’s youth system.
The teenager’s next major milestone arrived several months later in the Premier League.
On March 14, 2026, Dowman scored during Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Everton at the Emirates Stadium. His goal came in stoppage time after he carried the ball approximately 60 metres from inside his own half before finishing into an empty net.
He was 16 years and 73 days old at the time, making him the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history. Dowman surpassed a record that had stood for more than two decades, previously held by Everton’s James Vaughan.
His third record followed at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.
Arsenal won the Premier League title for the first time in 22 years, and Dowman became the youngest player ever to win the competition. He was 16 years and 144 days old when he collected his championship winner’s medal. Guinness World Records confirmed that he broke the previous record held by former Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden by more than a year.
The achievements have now earned Dowman a prominent place in the Guinness World Records Football Edition 2027, where he features as part of the publication’s “Class of ’27”, a selection of emerging talents from men’s and women’s football.
Tom Beckerlegge, senior editor of Guinness World Records Football Edition 2027, described Dowman as the youngest player on the list and highlighted the significance of already holding three world records before his 17th birthday.
Dowman’s rapid rise has been particularly notable because his senior career is still in its early stages. He made his Arsenal first-team debut against Leeds United at the beginning of the 2025/26 season, aged 15 years and 235 days, becoming the second-youngest player to appear in the Premier League behind his Arsenal teammate Ethan Nwaneri.
Rather than slowing down after his breakthrough campaign, Dowman has continued to make an impression during the new season. Guinness World Records highlighted his performance against Ipswich Town in the Carabao Cup, where he scored twice in Arsenal’s 4-2 victory.
The teenager’s record-breaking journey therefore appears to be only beginning. At 16, Dowman has already achieved milestones that many established players never reach, while his performances continue to attract attention at both club and international level.
For Arsenal, his emergence represents another product of the club’s Hale End academy and provides supporters with another highly rated young talent to follow.
For Dowman, however, the three certificates serve as an official reminder of what he has already accomplished, while also setting an unusually high standard for the years ahead.
