The MD/CEO of Anambra Road Traffic Management Agency (ARTMA), Engr. Okonkwo Emeka-Konti, has advised road users in Anambra State to guard against falling victim to touts and fraudulent ARTMA officials.
Engr. Okonkwo Emeka stated this in a public notice issued in Awka, the capital, over the weekend.
The ARTMA boss also advised Anambra road users to desist from arguing, resisting, bribing or exchanging words with ARTMA officers whenever they feel their rights have been infringed upon.
Rather, to demand for the unit supervisor, as well as the video of the offence.
Failure to do so in ten minutes, one is advised to call the central customer care numbers and receive the necessary help.

He also informed that vehicle should not be impounded in areas where there are no signs.
The public notice reads:
“Whenever you feel wrongly impounded, please do not argue, resist, bribe or exchange words with ARTMA officers.
“Willingly agree to drive your vehicle to the closest ARTMA base so your vehicle will not be towed.
“Ask for the unit supervisor who should immediately show you the video of your offence. If the above isnt done in 10minutes, please call our central customer care numbers and we will be excited to help you.
“The video of the offence will always be called up as we have a WhatsApp group where offenders videos are posted for every local Government office.
“No vehicle should be impounded in areas where there are no signs.
“Any vehicle without a well detailed video is released for free and officers sanctioned.
“Feedbacks received indicates that some corrupt officers scare offenders with tarrif. They ask you to pay them between N30,000 to N50,000 on the road claiming its double the price in the office – this is totally false.
“Please take note of the unique number on the vest of any officers who tries such trick and report.
“Customer care numbers – 08144228836 or 08081958091”
