In human history, the greatest breakthrough is a solution. Solution has defined human history and has paved the way for stability and possibility. Blessed with a learned and excellent representative, APGA and the Onitsha North constituency 1 resolved that they have found a solution to years of poor representation in the state house of assembly. Her return to the House is not only assured but also assured with excellence.
As primary elections across parties were gearing up, we already knew it was about political parties fielding their best, and to find the best, aspirants go through primary elections. But any time a party returns an aspirant unopposed, then there is something remarkable about that figure.
Mimiy Ifeoma Azikiwe stood as a spectator during the exercise. She had done and dusted her candidacy with distinction. It didn’t come on a silver platter, it was a prize for excellence and hardwork. Instead of go home to celebrate, she waited to cheer winners of APGA primaries and wish them successful outing. Well, i have not seen a dedicated party person like her, who understands the essence of loyalty and collective success.
I barely give attention to politics in Nigeria, but when I see someone capable of restoring confidence and dreams in politics, it costs nothing to say it loud.
For Mimiy Ifeoma Azikiwe, being returned unopposed is a vote of confidence in her to carry on and do more and a prize for outstanding representation. As a pragmatic and proactive individual, Mimiy knows there is no limit to what she can achieve for the people of Onitsha North Constituency 1.
We can argue that in the history of the constituency, no representative has been more outstanding than her. She has been in the house for a few months, but her scorecard has exceeded the scorecards of those who have stayed for years. By returning her unopposed, APGA is simply passing a message of effectiveness—when you perform with excellence, the party sees you as an asset and jealously holds you tight.
Sometimes, a party allows the primary to fulfill all righteousness, but an asset will always have a free ride.
If Onitsha North Constituency 1 has found its solution like the state found in His Excellency Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, what is the need for searching?
There would eventually come a time Mimiy would leave constituency 1 for a federal position, where more people of Onitsha would benefit from the adorable Onitsha Ado Na Idu daughter. Pending that time, Onitsha North Constituency 1 remains unavailable for political struggle—a solution has been found, and the message has clearly been passed across the constituency.
Just as APGA passed its vote of confidence in Hon. Mimiy Ifeoma Azikiwe, the constituents have also done the same. For the first time, we come to the concession that politicians are not the same. Mimiy is driven by service to humanity, and returning her unopposed will help shine the light of service on her colleagues and the general politics of the land.
We must learn to stand firmly and unapologetically with those who have proven to be service-inclined. It is high time we stood on facts and figures, eschewed our differences, and aligned with progressives. We must align with figures capable of shaping our future and setting a precedent of accountability and service in politics.
Hence, if Mimiy Ifeoma Azikiwe returns unopposed, the understanding must transcend party and be effectively applied to other aspirants of other political parties—that Hon. Mimiy Ifeoma has proven to be a long-sought-after brand and must return to the Anambra State House of Assembly unopposed to continue the beneficial work she is doing for the people.
Sometimes, personal aspiration and political ambition that don’t put the people into consideration drive politicians; thus, even when you expect them to surrender for the best, they still come out to massage their ambitions—hence, the people of Onitsha North Constituency 1 must put such politicians where they belong come the general election.
The message of an unopposed primary ticket is loud and clear. APGA under the leadership of His Excellency Prof. Chukwuma Soludo is not only about ensuring good governance but also teaching the people how to catch fish with an outstanding breed of politicians who are capable of delivering the same leadership quality in the state to their respective constituencies, of which Hon. Mimiy Ifeoma Azikiwe is an example.
The leadership of APGA has given Onitsha North Constituency 1 its own solution—a representative who has learned his trade under His Excellency. Come the general election, the bright morning star shall glow and put further smiles on the faces of the people of Onitsha North Constituency 1.
Mimiy is in a class of her own, and getting distinction is not your everyday political score.
