A United States Professor and columnist, Farooq Kperogi has asked the Minister of education Adamu Adamu to resign with immediate effect over the lingering ASUU strike in the country.

In a short statement he posted on his official Facebook page, Kperogi said it is abnormal for the federal government to reconstitute another committee to renegotiate the terms of an agreement they willingly signed with ASUU in the past despite failing on several occasions to honour it.
He said it is now obvious that the Minister of education has no clue, and has no interest in resolving the lingering crisis tearing the universities apart.
Kperogi however urged Adamu to resign immediately, describing him as a massive failure.
He said, “The Federal Government has reconstituted a committee to renegotiate the terms of an agreement it willingly signed with ASUU years ago, which it serially reneged. Can you beat that?
“What sort of criminal idiocy is that? How can you negotiate for a change of the goalpost years after a goal has already been scored and think you’re normal?
“Students of poor people who can’t afford private or foreign universities are writhing in emotional trauma because their futures are being put on hold, and all that Adamu Adamu can do is constitute another pointless committee of effete geriatrics?
“It’s now clear that Adamu Adamu has no clue, and has no interest in resolving the crisis in our universities that he wrote passionately about.
“I have siblings and cousins whose university education I’m financing, so this affects me personally, but I cannot in good conscience fault ASUU’s strike. I can’t. I don’t know what else I’d do if I were in their shoes.”
This is a thoroughly irresponsible and criminal government. If Adamu Adamu has any smidgen of decency left in him, he should resign, admit he is a failure, and apologize.
