Atletico Madrid Beat Super Eagles In Gotv Cup

Atletico Madrid have beaten the national team, Super Eagles, in Gotv Cup international friendly on Tuesday.

The Spanish side beat the Russia 2018 World Cup-bound Eagles 3-2 in Ugochi, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

The Eagles’s starting line up we’re: Thomas(16), Musa Muhammed(2), Ebube Duru(3), Olamilekan Adeleye(5), Chinedu Ajanah(6), Emem Eduok(7), Alhassan Ibrahim(20), Chidiebere Nwakali(10), Kelechi Nwakali(11), Ekundayo Ojo(15), Kadiri Samad(19).

The Super Eagles took the lead in the first half through a Kelechi Nwakali’s screamer.

Atletico drew up level few minutes later only for Torres to fire the Spaniards into the lead.

An awesome piece of individual brilliance by the Rio Olympics bronze medalist, Usman Mohammed, however, saved the Super Eagles from disaster.

The entire stadium responded to the goal, which won the goal of the game, with a standing ovation while the arena rocked: 2-2.

The visitors, however, proved champions stuff with another top class finish and Atletico won the Gotv Cup 3-2.
