According to a statement by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Owunari Georgewill, the accident occurred when a reckless commercial bus driver rammed into a stationary lorry, killing several passengers.
Among the casualties was Miss Okoh, who died from severe injuries sustained in the collision.
“Gone too soon; sunset at noon,” Prof. Georgewill wrote, expressing deep sorrow over the loss. “University of Port Harcourt mourns the passing of our 300 level student of Economics.

“The University mourned her death and consoles her colleagues and family for this sudden death and irreparable loss and pain due to this tragedy.
May the soul of Oluchi rest in perfect peace,” the Vice Chancellor added.
