Panic spread through Ejiba, a community in Kogi State’s Yagba West Local Government Area, on Sunday morning when armed bandits raided a Cherubim and Seraphim Church service, abducting the pastor, his wife, and several worshippers.
Eyewitness Adegboyega Oguns described the scene as “serious,” saying the congregation fled in fear as the gunmen advanced.
“The pastor, popularly known as Orlando, his wife, and some others have been kidnapped,” Oguns wrote on Facebook.
This attack follows another violent incident on Saturday, where armed men targeted the Isanlu Makutu–Idofin route in Yagba East, forcing residents and travelers to scatter.
The exact number of kidnapped victims remains unclear as updates continue to emerge.
The recent attacks have heightened fears in neighboring towns, with many residents staying indoors and commuters avoiding the troubled routes.
