Bandits batter Nigerian soldier, kidnap wife, son

An officer of the Nigerian army identified as Warrant Officer Suleiman have been reportedly battered by a group of heavily armed bandits in Niger State.

The unfortunate incident according to media reports occurred at Mr Suleiman’s residence in Sabon Wuse, located in Tafa local government area, on Tuesday night.

Sources revealed that the criminal elements abducted Suleiman’s wife and son during the attack.

The injured soldier is said to be receiving medical treatment at an undisclosed hospital in the state.

Colleagues of the soldier disclosed that he was nearing retirement, with only a few months left in service.

“WO Suleiman was assaulted at his home in Sabon Wuse, Tafa LGA, around midnight on August 6, 2024,” a source familiar with the situation shared. “Following the attack, his wife and son were taken, and their whereabouts remain unknown. The soldier was preparing for retirement training in Oshodi, Lagos State, and had previously worked for the wife of General Agwai.”
