
The National Union of Bauchi of Bauchi State Students (NUBASS) has flagged off its Free Education Initiative at General Hassan Usman Katsina Unity College, Bauchi.
The program initiated by the president of the union Comrade Muhammad Salees Gamawa was launched by the Bauchi State Governor Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar represented by his deputy Engr. Nuhu Gidado.
In his message, Governor Abubakar applauded the NUBASS president for his concern about the current state of education in the state, describing him as the Martin Luther King of this time.
He, therefore, and expresses readiness of his government to work cordially with NUBASS for the betterment of the state.
On scholarship, Engr. Gidado lamented that his boss has approved and that soon the payment will commence.
Welcoming the guest, the president of the National Union of Bauchi State Students Muhammad Salees Gamawa expresses satisfaction with the state government approach on education and enjoined the Government to cooperate him to move Bauchi State to the Greater level.
“This program is one of the numerous initiatives contained in our blueprint, we have planned a lot, we hope that the Government and the general public will cooperate with us to archive the continuity of the program,” Gamawa added.
The Students’ president added that the same program for girls will be flagged off by the First lady on Thursday at Government Girls Secondary School Azare.
Highlights of the event were the presentation of 20,000 exercise books, 1,000 mosquito nets and 5,000 kettles and mats to the students of the school.
