Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has dissolved the Benue State Executive Council, effective immediately, and appointed Barrister Moses Atagher as the new Chief of Staff.
Atagher, a seasoned administrator, brings a wealth of experience to the role.
He previously served as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Benue State for two terms and Acting Managing Director of the Federal Mortgage Bank.
The dissolution affects only commissioners, with the governor expressing gratitude to the outgoing cabinet members for their service over the past two years.
He encouraged those not reappointed to remain committed to the party and continue engaging with the system.
The former commissioners have been directed to hand over to the Permanent Secretaries of their respective ministries without delay.
While speaking on behalf of the outgoing commissioners, Barr. Bemsen Mnyim thanked the governor for the opportunity to serve, describing the experience as a valuable learning process.
The governor’s decision is seen as a strategic reorganization to bring in new perspectives that align with his long-term development vision for the state.
The move is expected to pave the way for other citizens to contribute to the state’s development.
