Beyoncé Becomes Fifth Musician to Reach $1bn — Forbes

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has officially been named a billionaire by Forbes, becoming only the fifth musician globally to amass a fortune exceeding $1 billion.

The 44-year-old singer, performer and entrepreneur now joins an exclusive list that includes Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen and her husband, Jay-Z, whom Forbes estimates to be worth $2.5 billion.

According to the American business magazine, Beyoncé’s billionaire status is the result of sustained commercial success across music, touring, film and brand partnerships, capped by a series of blockbuster projects between 2023 and 2025.

Central to the milestone was her 2023 Renaissance World Tour, which grossed nearly $600 million, ranking among the highest-grossing concert tours of all time.

“The Renaissance World Tour would be a career peak,” Forbes wrote.

“The three-hour, career-spanning journey through Beyoncé’s discography was one of the concert sensations of 2023, grossing nearly $600 million and cementing her place, alongside Taylor Swift, as one of the biggest pop culture icons in the world.”

Rather than slowing down, the publication noted that Beyoncé expanded her reach in 2024 with the release of Cowboy Carter, a genre-blending country album that re-examined the Black roots of country music.

The project won Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards and opened new commercial pathways, including a Christmas Day NFL halftime performance and what became the world’s highest-grossing concert tour of 2025.

Forbes reported that the Cowboy Carter Tour generated more than $400 million in ticket sales, despite slower sales and discounted tickets in some markets, with an additional $50 million earned from merchandise.

Beyoncé also capitalised on the success of Renaissance by releasing a concert film directly through AMC Theatres, a move that allowed her to retain roughly half of its $44 million global box office revenue.

Further boosting her wealth were high-value partnerships, including a Netflix NFL halftime special and a Levi’s advertising campaign, which Forbes estimates contributed about $60 million.

Beyond music and touring, Beyoncé has steadily expanded her business portfolio. In 2023, she launched her fragrance line, Cé Noir, followed by the debut of her haircare brand, Cécred, in February 2024. In August 2024, she also entered the spirits market with the introduction of her whiskey brand, Sir Davis.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest entertainers of her generation, Beyoncé is the most-awarded artiste in Grammy history, with 35 wins, a record that underscores both her artistic longevity and commercial influence.

With her latest recognition, Forbes said Beyoncé’s career now stands as a rare example of sustained cultural dominance translating into generational wealth.
