Nnamdi Kanu vs Uche-Mefor

The deputy leader of the outlawed Indigenous People Of Biafra, Uche-Mefor has lambasted the fugitive leader of the movement, Nnamdi Kanu, accusing him of inciting violence and armed struggle in the Southeast region.

Mefor, the estranged leader of the movement was reacting to the recent invasion of Orlu Local government of Imo State by the Nigerian military and other sister security agencies in search of Kanu’s private security outfit operating under the guise of Eastern Security Network.

Uche-Mefor in a statement said the region rejects any form of armed struggle. And the idea of attacking army or police when there is no need for it is not self defense.

He said, “We reject any form of armed struggle! You must not go and attack the army or police and especially when there is no need for it. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is inciting violence and effectively into armed struggle. This is not self-defence.

He further said a private security concern must not be imposed on the region and the entire Southeast must not be allowed to descend into lawlessness, anarchy and chaos.

“A private security concern must not be imposed on an entire population or region. Biafraland must not be allowed to descend into lawlessness, anarchy and chaos.

“The governors and State Assembly Members are complicit in any break down of law and order arising from their silence.”

However, he cautioned the Southeast leaders to act responsibly and make sure that the security forces leave the region

“They must act responsibly and prevail against the security forces to leave our land and in turn provide security for all and sundry. We renew our commitment to human rights and fundamental freedoms of all.”
