Blessing Okoro has doubled down on her position amid ongoing controversy surrounding her breast cancer disclosure, insisting she will not apologise despite growing public criticism.

Speaking during an interview with Egungun of Lagos, the self styled relationship expert addressed several claims that have trailed her announcement, including questions about her diagnosis and the funds raised from public donations.

Okoro maintained that she did not intentionally mislead the public, explaining that her earlier statement about having stage four cancer may have been based on incomplete or misunderstood medical information. According to her, she is still undergoing evaluation and has yet to receive a confirmed staging from her medical team.

She emphasised that she is not a medical professional and only shared what she believed to be accurate at the time. While acknowledging the confusion, she questioned the demand for an apology, insisting that she did not act with harmful intent.

On the issue of donations, Okoro pushed back against widespread reports that she received as much as N100 million. She clarified that the actual amount raised was N13 million, significantly lower than the figures circulating online. Her statement comes amid mounting scrutiny from donors and critics who have demanded transparency regarding the use of funds.

The controversy has been further complicated by allegations from individuals who claim to have contributed large sums. One such case involves a businessman who has reportedly issued a legal demand for a refund, escalating tensions and raising the possibility of legal action.

Despite the backlash, Okoro has remained resolute, defending her decision not to publicly release her medical records. She described such information as deeply personal, stressing her right to privacy even in the face of public pressure.

At the same time, she used the moment to highlight the importance of breast cancer awareness, encouraging women to carry out regular self examinations and seek medical attention if they notice unusual changes.

Her health journey, she explained, began with the discovery of a lump that was initially believed to be non cancerous. However, further evaluation later suggested otherwise, prompting additional tests and consultations. She revealed that she has not yet begun major treatment procedures and is awaiting more definitive medical guidance.

The situation has sparked widespread debate on social media, with opinions sharply divided. While some supporters have urged compassion and understanding, others have called for greater accountability, particularly given the sensitive nature of health related disclosures and public fundraising.

This is not the first time Okoro has faced public scrutiny, and the current situation has reignited discussions about credibility, influence, and responsibility among public figures in the digital age.

As the controversy continues to unfold, attention remains fixed on her next steps, both regarding her health updates and the growing calls for transparency.
