A blogger, the publisher of Community Watchdog Newspaper, Comrade Precious Nwadike has petitioned the Inspector General of Police [IGP], Ibrahim Kpotum Idris.
Comrade Nwadike, in the petition filed through his lawyer, Nnamdi Nwachukwu Esq. alleged threat to his life the Governor Rochas Okorocha administration over a report he published in 2015 on Imo State bailout funds
In the course of his travails, Nwadike was handed into detention despite the fact that the publication was subsequently vindicated by the investigations of ICPC AND EFCC.
He was thereafter arraigned in a magistrate court, Owerri, Imo State at the instigation of Uche Nwosu, the Chief of Staff of Governor Okorocha of Imo State [pictured above].
In the words of Barrister Nwachukwu, “To add salt to injury, some persons, possibly hired assassins, have been calling our client’s numbers and clearly stating their mission to eliminate him.”
Nwadike, who is presently in hiding, hence sought the protection of police as a law – abiding citizen.
See attached the petition to IGP Idris:
THREAT TO LIFE OF COMRADE PRECIOUS NWADIKE, PUBLISHER OF COMMUNITY WATCHDOG NEWSPAPER
We act as solicitors to Comrade Precious Nwadike the publisher of Community Watchdog Newspapers based in Owerri, Imo State.
We write this letter upon his instructions and we shall hereinafter refer to him as our client
A couple of months, our client published the misuse of the bail- out fun d given to Imo State Government.
This publication was subsequently vindicated by the investigations of ICPC AND EFCC.
Our client exercised his rights to publish what he did pursuant to section 22 of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria (as amended) which provides that the press has the obligation to uphold the accountability of the Government to the people.
The undirection of the publication by the EFCC and ICPC notwithstanding, our client was handed into detention and thereafter arraigned in a magistrate court, Owerri, Imo State by the complainant Uche Nwosu who is Chief of Staff of the Governor of Imo State and who incidentally is also the son-in-law to the said governor.
Our client has always been in court but in the last adjourned one, to wit, the 26th day of September, 2016.
Before our client could rush to court from where his wife put to bed, the court had adjourned the case upon issuing a bench warrant.
We promptly applied to the court to set aside the order in view of the reason for our client’s absence.
But it has become worrisome that the police under the Imo State Command with the instigation of Uche Nwosu are massively after the life of our client’s movements.
Before now, Mr. Uche Nwosu has sent several emissaries to our client to retract the publication, but because it will be meaningless hence ICPC and EFCC have not said what our client investigated and published is false.
To add salt to injury, some persons, possibly hired assassins, have been calling our client’s numbers and clearly stating their mission to eliminate him.
The threat came through the mobile number 07065133010.
According our instructions even the lives of staff of the publishing company are unsafe.
Our client is presently in a hiding and we feel that he is entitled to your protection as a law – abiding citizen.
We humbly and respectfully apply for your intervention.
Thanks for your co-operation.
yours truly,
For: Ngozi C. Olehi & Co

Nnamdi Nwachukwu Esq.
