Bode George warns Damagum and Atiku, says PDP must not collapse

Former Deputy National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, has warned the National Acting Chairman Ambassador Umar Damagum and Abubakar Atiku to never allow the party to collapse.
As gathered by the Diaspora Digital Media, George gave the warning in a recent interview on Arise TV.
He expressed concern over the internal discord that has led to the division of the PDP into three factions.
He warned that the division could hinder the party’s success in the upcoming presidential election scheduled for 2027.
George advised the party to adopt comprehensive strategies to address the ongoing crisis within the party.
The former deputy national chairman, while stating the reasons behind the crisis in the party, said the crisis arose from disagreements regarding Ambassador Umar Damagum’s tenure as Acting National Chairman and the competition for the party’s ticket for the 2027 elections.
George strongly rejected assertions claiming that the PDP is inactive.
He reassured stakeholders and supporters that the party would recover and reclaim its pivotal role in Nigerian politics.
“Human beings are fallible; only the Almighty God is perfect,” George stated.
He acknowledged the numerous criticisms leveled against the PDP’s current situation.
“Many have suggested that the party is finished, but discussions are actively taking place.
George noted the presence of three major groups within the party: supporters of Damagum, followers of Atiku, and other factions.
George remarked, “The behaviors and attitudes we face today are a direct result of past decisions.”
The party man emphasized the need for honesty and self-reflection among party members.
He reaffirmed, “I have no biases. My focus is on ensuring that this party does not disintegrate.”
