Boko Haram Attacks Adamawa Village, 7 People Reported Dead

The Boko Haram insurgents have attacked and killed seven people in Mildu  village area in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa state.

The attacked which took place in the early hours of Wednesday, left six people dead one person  injured as well as residents in the state of fear and panic, as they are preparing for market day  to sale their

wares at the time of the attack.

 Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Adamawa state Ahmad Sajoh who confirmed the development said six villagers were killed and one insurgent.

“There was attack around 2 am and six villagers were killed while one of the attackers was killed by hunters who chased the attackers before the arrival of soldiers who are now combing the area,” Sajoh said.

Sajoh said that the village and it’s environ  has been deserted by people who are now waiting for the military and hunters to finish their operation of tracking the insurgents.

The chairman of Madagali council, Alhaji Yusuf Mohammed who also confirmed the incident said he was yet to get full details of casualties.

A resident from the area who pleaded for anonymity, while confirming the attack, lament the death of Commander of hunters Association in the state, Mallam Bukur Jimeta who used to repel the attack on the

communities in the area.

The resident noted that, death of Jimeta would be felt by the people of the area,in view of his bravery and resilience in the fight against insurgency.

The attack is coming barely two weeks after the death of the hunter’s commander who was killed during an encounter with Boko Haram terrorists.

Mildu village is home town of former governor Balla Jame Nggilari, who was freed and acquitted by Yola appeal court in connection with unlawful procurement procedure of the state government.
