More controversy have trailed the release of the academic documents of Nigeria’s president, Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, by Chicago State University (CSU) to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 presidential election.
The documents indicted “Bola Tinubu” as an identity thief for several reasons.
First, the social security number on the Chicago State University academic records, 231-06-0595, was issued in Virginia in 1976 to a female.
It has since then been used by Bola A. Tinubu, Nigeria’s president, and one Abimbola Adenike Tinubu, a medical Doctor in Louisiana, United States.
Consequent upon the revelation, the Abimbola Adenike Tinubu is believed to be the real owner of the Cambridge GCE result in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, which was part of the academic records for “Bola Tinubu” released by the CSU.

Observers have, in the meantime, accused Chicago State University of being an accomplice in the heist for some reasons.
Chicago State University, on Monday, released redacted copies of their certificates with the names of the original owners covered, a clear indication that the school authorities have copies of certificates they had issued their graduates.
It could be recalled, however, that CSU had, through their lawyers, told Judge Jeffrey Gilbert of the U.S District Court, Northern District of Illinois, that they don’t have copies of certificates they issue to their students since they are merely ceremonials.
Meanwhile, more than one example of the said certificate has been presented by Tinubu to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal at various intervals.
Reacting to the redacted certificates, a former presidential aide and newspaper publisher, Mr. Jackson Udeh, wondered:
“Where then did the rogue school find the copies of the redacted certificates that have covered names of recipients.
“And why couldn’t they find a copy of the one belonging to Bola Tinubu if they can find redacted copies belonging to other students from the 1970s?”
Mr. Udeh, therefore, invited the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Chicago to step in and begin a thorough investigation of CSU.
According to him, since 1999, Bola Tinubu has made millions of Dollars in donation to that school through proxies which explains why the institution had risen to his defence when the forged documents saga arose.
