The Nigeria police and the Department of State Services (DSS) have warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against going ahead of Edo governorship election scheduled to hold on September 10.

The security agencies said there is ongoing planned terrorist attack by some Boko-Haram element in some residents

The agencies asked INEC to postpone the election till further notice in order to deal with some boko-haram elements.‎

Briefing newsmen during the joint Press briefing, the spokesperson of the police Dan Awunah said due to threats that have been issued by terrorist to launch attack during the election, it is advisable for the INEC to postpone the election.
