BREAKING: 6 oil workers, 2 others killed in chopper crash in Akwa-Ibom

Six oil workers and two crew members have been reportedly killed following a helicopter crash in Akwa-Ibom State.

This medium gathered that the chopper nosedived into the Atlantic Ocean while the workers were conducting operations at the OML 123 oil field.

The unfortunate incident occurred around 11:40am while the victims were working on the Mimbo platform and the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel.

“There were six personnel and two crew members onboard the helicopter. Three bodies have been recovered so far. Search and rescue is ongoing.

“The helicopter belongs to Eastwind Aviation,” a source according to the Nation revealed.
