BREAKING: Appeal Court nullifies APGA’s Elodimuo’s election into House of Reps

The election petition appeal court sitting in Lagos, on Friday, October 27, upheld the ruling of the election Tribunal in Awka which nullified the return of Hon. Uche Elodimuo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

The court upheld the decision of the Anambra State election tribunal in favour of Hon. Peter Uzokwe of the Young Progressives Party (YPP).

In its judgment, the court ruled that the declaration of Hon. Elodimuo as the winner of the 2023 Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency Election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is illegal, unconstitutional, null and void.

The court also ordered INEC to conduct a supplementary election in eight of the Polling Units in Nnewi within ninety days from the 31st of August 2023.
