Appeal Panel struck out request by Ali Modu Sheriff faction of PDP to stop hearing the appeals relating to the dispute over the party’s Ondo guber ticket

Appeal Panel on Wednesday struck out request by Ali Modu Sheriff faction of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to stop hearing the appeals relating to the dispute over the party’s governorship ticket for the forthcoming November 26 election in Ondo State.

The state executive committees of the Ali Modu Sheriff’s faction of the Peoples Democratic Party in the South-West zone, had asked the Justice Ibrahim Saulawa-led panel of the Court of Appeal in Abuja to stop hearing the appeals relating to the dispute over the party’s governorship ticket for the forthcoming November 26 election in Ondo State.

The pending appeals were filed by the Chairman of the rival faction of the PDP, Ahmed Makarfi, and its preferred governorship candidate in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede, who was dropped by the Independent National Electoral Commission and replaced with Jimoh Ibrahim, who belongs to the Sheriff faction.

The Court of Appeal in his ruling on Wednesday‎ struck out Jimoh ibrahim request for stay of proceeding pending the conclusion of the matter at the Supreme court.‎
