Breaking: ASUU halts strike after meeting with Senate

The Academic Staff Union of Universities [ASUU] has, on Tuesday, halted the ongoing strike commenced last week after a meeting with members of the Senate.

The previous closed door meeting between Senate and ASUU last week failed to bring an end to the warning strike by the Union.

Chairman, Senate on Tertiary Education and Tetfund, Senator Jubril Barau had explained that‎ a sub-committee was set up to resolve the matter.

The Senate expressed its resolve to intervene in the face-off between the Federal Government and ASUU.

The lawmakers had asked Senate President Bukola Saraki to intervene in the matter and prevent ASUU from embarking on the strike.

The strike began on Wednesday, November 16.
