BREAKING: Bandits free ex-Nasarawa Deputy Gov after N4m ransom

Bandits have freed former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Prof Onje Gye-Wado, after collecting N4 million in ransom.

News of his release was received Monday morning after spending three days in the kidnappers’ den.

Professor Gye-Wado was kidnapped last Thursday night in his country home at Rinza, near Wamba, the headquarters of Wamba local government area.

The kidnappers had placed a N70 million ransom but later collected N4 million and released him.

Family source said that they collected the ransom near Mada Hills Secondary School in Akwanga with N200 recharge card.

He was, however, released near Angwan chiyawa close to the hills between Akwanga and Nasarawa Eggon.

It was gathered Gye-Wado was taken back to the palace of the paramount ruler of Wamba, Oriye Rindre, Justice Lawal Musa Nagogo after his release. Read more.
