BREAKING: Chude Nnamdi released from detention

Published

on

Mr. Chude Nnamdi, a vocal promoter of the Labour Party, known across Twitter for his staunch pro-Labour advocacy, has been released from detention by security operatives in Abuja, multiple sources say.

News Band had earlier reported that the Nigerian police on Wednesday arrested Mr. Chude after honouring a police invitation in an alleged defamation claim brought by billionaire businessman, Sir Emeka Offor.

It is still not very clear which of the security agencies arrested him but a source told News Band he was arrested by operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS).

According to the source, Chude was arrested following a petition filed against him by Sir Offor, the Chairman/CEO of Chrome Group and Emeka Offor Foundation.

It was learnt that the present ordeal is a continuation of the previous petition against him and that he may be charged to court on Thursday.

More details will follow…
