A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has granted former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman N10 billion bail with two sureties of equal amount.

The presiding judge, Justice James Omotosho, in his ruling on Mamman’s bail application, held that the sureties must possess properties in Abuja with a minimum value of N750 million each.

Also, the sureties are mandated to submit certified land documents to the court, along with proof of tax payment for the past three years.

The court further mandated that the defendants provide bank statements and surrender their international passports.

More so, the trial judge ordered the defendant to surrender his international passport to the registrar of the court.

He held that the registrar must verify all the documents before the defendant is released from custody.

In the alternative, the court said the sureties could submit a bank guarantee or bond in the sum of N10bn.

It held that the defendant should remain in prison custody, pending the perfection of all the bail conditions.

The case was subsequently adjourned until September 25 for a hearing.
