A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the remand of former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), his son Abubakar Malami, and his wife Bashir Asabe at the Kuje Correctional Centre.

This decision was made pending the hearing and determination of their bail application.

Malami and his co-defendants are facing a 16-count money laundering charge filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The anti-graft agency alleged that they conspired to conceal, retain, and disguise proceeds of unlawful activities amounting to several billions of naira.
