(DDM) – Tragedy struck on Wednesday at Four Corner, along the Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway, when a Dangote truck reportedly ran into commuters, killing a family and several others.

DDM gathered that the crash occurred in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, leaving multiple victims dead while survivors were rushed to nearby hospitals for urgent medical care.

This latest incident has reignited anger among Nigerians, given the frequency of such deadly crashes.

In April 2024, a Dangote truck collided with a Toyota Hiace bus along the Okene-Lokoja highway, killing 19 people.

Just weeks ago, another Dangote vehicle struck Ruth Otabor, the sister of Big Brother Naija winner Phyna, in Edo State.

Ruth’s case drew national attention after her leg was amputated following the accident near Auchi Polytechnic.

Sadly, she died on August 31, 2025, and her remains were taken to a mortuary by Dangote Group officials after the family was informed.

Her relatives, through their lawyers, confirmed her passing, requesting privacy as they mourn while expecting the company to handle funeral expenses, given its prior involvement in her medical care.

Public outrage continues to mount, with citizens questioning why Dangote trucks remain frequent actors in fatal accidents across Nigeria’s highways.

Families of victims have called for accountability, while activists demand government intervention to enforce stricter regulations on heavy-duty vehicles.

Relatives of Ruth Otabor described her as a lively and caring person whose untimely death has left them devastated.
