The Department of State Services (DSS) has announced the dismissal of 115 personnel as part of its ongoing reforms to enhance professionalism, discipline, and accountability within the agency.
The announcement, made on Tuesday through the DSS website and verified social media platforms, revealed that the dismissals occurred over a period following internal disciplinary actions.
The secret police cautioned the public against dealing with any of the dismissed officers, highlighting that some of them continue to impersonate active operatives to engage in fraudulent activities.
In the statement, the agency reiterated its commitment to transparency by publishing the names of the dismissed personnel on its official website for public reference.
The statement read: “As part of the ongoing reforms in the Department of State Services (DSS), the public is hereby informed that a total of 115 personnel have been dismissed over a period.”
It also specifically warned against engaging with Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, two former operatives previously disowned by the Service for fraudulent practices.
The DSS urged citizens to verify the identity of anyone claiming to be a DSS operative before engaging with them and provided official channels for inquiries or reports of suspicious activities.
