BREAKING: End of the road for Finland based bandit, Ekpa as Senate begins extradition process

The end might be near for Mr Simon Ekpa, a Finland based bandit who has been terrorizing the Southeast with his gunmen enforcing an illegal sit-at-home in the region.

The Nigerian Senate on Wednesday demanded that Mr Ekpa should be extradited back to Nigeria so that he can face the full force of the law for his actions, which they claimed are ruining the minds of young people in the South East.

This came after a motion from Imo State senator Osita Osinazu, which was supported by all Southeast senators.

The motion demanded that the sit-at-home campaign should be stopped. He also denounced Ekpa, whom he referred to as “a gang leader.”

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, however, urged the federal government to engage Finnish authorities with the aim of extraditing Mr Ekpa for prosecution.

It also resolved to invite the Minister of Foreign Affairs (when appointed) and relevant stakeholders to carry out thorough investigation as well as bring other sponsors of the act to book.
