An aircraft belonging to Enugu Air has crashed at Benin City airport in Edo State.
The unfortunate incident occurred when the aircraft skidded off the runway of the airport during landing.
The aviation company confirmed the incident in a statement posted on its official X handle on Thursday.
It said all passengers and crew safely disembarked from the aircraft, “with no injuries or casualties recorded”.
Enugu Air said the aircraft has been secured, noting that the relevant aviation authorities have also been notified in line with established procedures.
The statement reads: “We sincerely thank our passengers for their patience, understanding, and cooperation.
“We are pleased to confirm that all passengers and crew safely disembarked with no injuries reported.
“An assessment of the aircraft and the circumstances surrounding the occurrence is currently underway,” the airline said.
“As a result, there may be temporary adjustments to some flight schedules. Passengers affected by any changes will be contacted directly and provided with the necessary assistance.”
However, Enugu Air said the safety of its passengers, crew and operations remains its top priority, adding that further updates will be communicated through its official channels.
