BREAKING: FG Postpones Nat’l Sport Festival Over Coronavirus
The Federal Government has postponed the National Sports Festival Edo 2020 owing to the coronavirus outbreak which Nigeria has recorded three confirmed cases.
The Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare, disclosed this in a series of tweets on Tuesday.
Mr. Dare said the postponement was to safeguard the spread of the virus in the country.
He tweeted: “Following the briefing of Mr. President from myself and the Minister of State for Health on COVID 19, Mr. President approved the immediate postponement of Edo Sports festival to a future date.
“Following the briefing from myself and health Minister
“President Mohammadu Buhari approves the postponement of the National Sports Festival Edo 2020 as a precautionary move against COVID-19 spread.”
