BREAKING: Gunmen kill ex-Nasarawa education secretary, kidnap 20 travellers

Unknown gunmen have killed the former education secretary of Nasarawa local government area of the state, Malami Salihu after kidnapping 20 people traveling to Toto Local Government Area of the state.

Secretary of Gadabuke Emirate Council, Malam Abdullahi Baba disclosed this to newsmen on Tuesday.

According to Malam Baba, the gunmen came out from bush and attacked the vehicles and along the line kidnapped about twenty persons.

According to reports, the heavily armed gunmen kidnapped some twenty victims traveling in three vehicles among whom was Salihu along mungi sharp Conner Buga Gwari, Gadabuke area of Toto LGA.

The gunmen intercepted the travellers and matched them into a forest but Salihu’s lifeless body was later found by the road side.

Shedding light on what actually happened, Baba said the former education secretary was also traveling alongside his friend in a private vehicle.

They were also taken away with others but his dead body was later found in a nearby bush.

In the meantime, the kidnappers are yet to make any contact with the relatives of the victims.

The Nasarawa State Police Command Spokesman could not be reached as at publication time for official police statement on the issue.
