The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Uba Sani of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the governorship election held on March 18.
Uba Sani garnered 730,002 votes to defeat his closest rival, Ashiru Kudan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 719,196 votes in a keenly contested contest.
Also, Jonathan Asake of the Labour Party (LP) scored 58,283 votes to finish third.
In the meantime, PDP lawyers and agents have objected to the result presented by the collation officer from Lere LGA for Kaduna Gubernatorial election.
According to the agents, the result on IREV shows PDP has 42,223 votes and APC 32,355 from Lere LGA, insisting that it is still verifiable as at 12:30PM, 20/03/2023.
“Everyone can check the IREV and verify this result. However, they have produced a result that has erased PDP’s lead. Everyone can verify the result on IREV at this moment,” said the agent.
