In a bold statement just days after the U.S.-brokered ceasefire between Iran and Israel, Iran’s Supreme Leader has taken to social media to declare what he calls a triumph over his adversaries.
Posting on X (formerly Twitter), the Supreme Leader wrote:
“I offer my congratulations on the victory over the fallacious Zionist regime.”
The post comes amid continued tension and mutual distrust despite the ceasefire negotiated by U.S. President Donald Trump, which ended nearly two weeks of deadly conflict.
The Iranian leader’s statement is likely to escalate rhetoric in the region and raise new questions about the long-term sustainability of the ceasefire.
