Many spectators have been reportedly killed in Calabar Bikers’ Carnival, one of the events of the ongoing Calabar Carnival, as a car rammed into spectators’ stand.
News Band Newspaper gathered that the car had a head-on collision with one of the bikers and lost control, ramming into the crowd.
Some of the victims were crushed to death while those who survived sustained life-threatening injuries.
The unfortunate incident occured at the popular Bogobiri junction on Tuesday evening.
The incident also led to protest by the Hausa community in the area.
At the time of filing this report, the event has been suspended.
