BREAKING: Obidient Movement Denounces Fake Soludo Endorsement, Warns Power Brokers

The Obidient Movement has dismissed claims that it endorsed the incumbent Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, reaffirming its full support for Dr. George Moghalu of the Labour Party.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that the Global and National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, along with the Media Personnel Spokesperson for South East (Anambra Chapter) and the Lead Coordinator for Anambra State, held a press briefing with representatives from Arise TV and other media outlets at the state campaign office of Dr. Moghalu.

During the briefing, Dr. Tanko highlighted the Movement’s recent outreach across Anambra State, noting the inauguration of 5,000 coordinators across polling units in Awkuzu, Nnewi, and Awka, representing Anambra North, South, and Central constituencies.

Ambassador Justin Kingland, Spokesperson for the Obidient Movement in South East (Anambra Chapter), debunked allegations that the Movement had endorsed Governor Soludo.

He described the claim as “entirely fabricated” and emphasized that the Obidient Movement was not consulted nor aware that its name had been misused.

Kingland stressed that the Movement recognizes only one candidate, Dr. George Moghalu, whose candidacy is also endorsed by the Movement’s apex leader, His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi.

He reaffirmed that any endorsements of Soludo in the name of the Obidient Movement were driven by personal or transactional motives, warning that such acts do not represent the Movement’s position.

The spokesperson recalled that on October 14, he personally accompanied Mr. Obi during campaign stops for Dr. Moghalu in Achalla, Okpuno, Amawbia, and Nibo in Awka North and South LGAs, and during the campaign flag-off in Onitsha.

Kingland emphasized that Mr. Obi remains a committed member of the Labour Party, though coalition talks are ongoing ahead of the 2027 presidential election, with all official announcements planned after the November 8 polls.

Kingland also highlighted his ongoing grassroots mobilization efforts, including recent tours and stakeholder meetings in Agulu, Anaocha LGA, and hosting interactions with the Possibilitarians Movement, a group of over 210 individuals supporting Mr. Obi and Dr. Moghalu.
