Victor Osimhen has been given the green light to join his Super Eagles teammates in Bouake, Cote d’Ivoire for their AFCON 2023 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final clash against South Africa.

The Africa reigning footballer of the year was reportedly given the clearance to play in the game by the team’s medical staff.

NewsBand reported that Osimhen missed the Super Eagles trip to Bouake – the venue of the semi-final clash with South Africa – after suffering abdominal discomfort.

The team’s media officer, Babafemi Raji, who confirmed the incident, said the team doctors had placed him under close watch with a member of the medical team staying behind in Abidjan with him.

According to sources in Abidjan, Osimhen will join his teammates in Bouake after being declared fit and is expected to feature in the game

The Napoli striker has been an important part of the Eagles’ superb AFCON run so far starting all five matches in Côte d’Ivoire, scoring one goal and setting up Ademola Lookman against Cameroon.
