Scores of residents have been killed in Anambra State following a stampede that occurred during a rice distribution event in Okija community.
In a video sighted by Newsband Newspaper, dozens of dead bodies mostly old and young women, were seen on the floor.
The sad incident occurred on Saturday morning as residents gathered to collect yuletide gifts from a philanthropist whose identity is not known at the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, details remain sketchy, and the exact number of casualties is yet to be confirmed.
