Breaking: Senate asks ASUU to go back to work

Senate on Wednesday asked the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to shelve the ongoing indefinite strike by Union.

This even as Senate summoned ASUU and Minister of Education Adamu Adamu over the ongoing indefinite strike by the Union. ‎

ASUU had on Monday embarked on indefinite strike over failure of Federal government to comply with 2009 agreement with the Union.

However, Chairman, Senate Committee on Tertiary Education and Tetfund, Senator Jubril Barua while addressing Journalists blamed the Union for not having enough confidence in Committee set up to resolve the crisis.

He said that the Senate Committee on Education would monitor the meeting between the Union and Federal government to ensure that the desire result is achieved. 

According to him, my committee has embarked on Action to resolve the crisis, you can see my committee has started contacting concerned parties.‎
