President Bola Tinubu has officially transmitted a list of 11 judges to the Nigerian senate for screening and confirmation as justices of the Supreme Court.
A statement by the Director of Information of the apex court, Mr Soji Oye, said the recommendation was made at the 104th meeting of the council in Abuja on Wednesday.
Recall that on November 19th, 22 justices of the Appeal Court were nominated by the Federal Judicial Service Commission (FJSC) for elevation to the Supreme Court and their names sent to the National Judicial Council (NJC).
Meanwhile, if cleared by the Senate, the apex court will have the full complement of 21 justices, as mandated by the Constitution.
However, the Judges recommended for appointment to the Supreme Court are:
