BREAKING: Troops kill several Boko Haram terrorists that raided Borno town

The gallant troops of Operation Tura Takaibango killed several Boko Haram terrorists this evening in Mafa town, Borno State.
News of the operation was broken by Mr. Deji Adesogan, a military and security affairs specialist, on his Twitter handle.
The troops, according to sources, killed scores of insurgents during a gunfight around 6pm on Friday.
Citing Army sources, Mr. Adesogan tweeted:
BREAKING: The gallant troops of Operation Tura Takaibango killed several Boko Haram terrorists this evening in Mafa town, Borno State. No casualty on the side of military as troops morale reportedly high. Details later.”
He concluded his tweet with a hashtag: “#SecureNorth“
Residents of the local government reported that Boko Haram with at least 10 Hilux vehicles with heavy gun stormed Mafa around late hours and started opening fire from all directions.
“As I speak with you most of the communities members have fled into bushes while others remain indoors,” he said.
Presently, hundreds of residents are running into the bushes for safety as troops make efforts to repel the attack.
Mafa is the hometown of Borno state Governor, professor Babagana Umara Zulum and is about 40 kilometre away from Maiduguri, the state capital.
The Nigeria Army is yet to issue statement on the attack as of the time of filing this report.
