Members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) caucus of the House of Representatives have thrown their weight behind PDP Senate caucus in the to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari.
The lawmakers of the lower chamber disclosed this during a joint meeting of both chamber caucuses held on Thursday.
The lawmakers said the state of the country was appalling hence the impeachment move.
They, thereafter, issued a six to eight weeks ultimatum to the President to solve the numerous challenges of the country or get booted out.
Recall that News Band reported on Wednesday that PDP Senators gave President Buhari six weeks ultimatum to address the rising insecurity in the country or face impeachment.
Senate Minority Leader, Philip Aduda, stated this while addressing reporters after the opposition lawmakers stormed out of the Senate plenary.
The angry senators were seen chanting “Buhari must go and Lawan should follow” while protesting the worsening insecurity across the country.
Trouble started when the Senate Minority Leader raised a point of order for the Red Chamber to deliberate on issues raised at the closed-door session, which lasted for two hours.
