The Former Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, has called upon the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to investigation all election cases handled by the former and retired President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa.
Dr. Ezekwesili’s call followed a confession by her husband, Senator Adamu Bulkachuwa, who revealed that his wife, Zainab, the retired appeal court president, was corrupt.
Senator Bulkachuwa had, during the valedictory session of the Senate, confessed to using his wife’s position to influence court cases in favour of his friends and colleagues in the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Consequent upon the revelation, the former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Human Rights activist and Space Law Expert, Dr. Olisa Agbakoba, SAN, the former Chairman of Nigeria’s National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Prof. Chidi Anselm Odinkalu, and a host of other concerned Nigerians have lambasted Senator Bulkachuwa.
Lending her voice to the uproar on her Twitter hendle, @obyezeks, Dr. Ezekwesili regretted that the Nigerian Judiciary and a corrupted political class are have traded the nation’s democracy.
She tweeted:
“The Nigerian Judiciary and a corrupted political class are steadily confirming how they trade our Democracy. What was that Senator saying in the Senate Chamber again?
“The outgone Senate President @DrAhmadLawan should be ashamed of himself for covering up confession of crime.”
Tweeting further, she called on the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to institute investigation, with immediate effect, into all election cases that came before the former President of Appeal Court.
She said:
The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court should immediately institute investigation of all election cases that came before the former President of Appeal Court , the wife of the confessing Senator that compromised her if there’s any honor left in the Judiciary of this country.
