Buratai Commiserates with Families of Fallen Soldiers

Former Chief of Army Staff Lt. General Tukur Yusufu Buratai (Rtd.), expressed deep condolences to the Nigerian military.

He reached out to the families of soldiers tragically lost in a recent attack in Niger State.

Firstly, Buratai praised the military’s persistent efforts, emphasizing their vital role in effectively tackling Nigeria’s ongoing security challenges.

Additionally, he urged citizens to stay vigilant, highlighting that public awareness is crucial in preventing and addressing security threats.

Finally, Buratai emphasized that teamwork between military personnel and civilians is essential for maintaining lasting peace and national stability.

Moreover, Buratai voiced his unwavering confidence in the Nigerian military’s ability to overcome security issues nationwide.

He stated, “The support of all other security agencies is needed to achieve a secure and peaceful Nigeria.”

His words reflect a strong belief in collaborative efforts to enhance national security.

The tragic incident unfolded during a fierce gun battle between Nigerian troops and suspected bandits in Bangi community.

This clash, which occurred in the Mariga Local Government Area, resulted in the heartbreaking loss of 17 soldiers.

Such incidents underscore the persistent security challenges facing Nigeria and the sacrifices made by its dedicated military personnel.

In response to this loss, the Chief of Army Staff announced a three-day mourning period from June 25th to 27th.

This declaration honors the sacrifices made by the fallen soldiers, reflecting deep respect.

During this period, military formations will display flags at half-mast to honor the deceased heroes.

This gesture serves as a powerful reminder of their ultimate sacrifice in service.

Additionally, the TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation has partnered with the Nigerian Army to support affected families.
