Calm Day as Peter Obi Presents More Witnesses, Documents

Unlike yesterday, today was a no-drama day at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja.

Prosecution witnesses were presented by the Labour Party.

First witness of the day was a cyber-security expert, Dr. Chibuike Ugoke whose cross examination was stepped down till tomorrow to allow defence counsels prepare properly.

Others where Onoja Uloko Sunday, an election Observer and Kefas Iya, a civil servant and adhoc INEC staff who supervised elections in 24 units in a ward in Adamawa State. He said under cross examination that the presidential election went smoothly except that the results were not transmitted as planned.

Among other documents, lists of registered voters and Permanent Voter Cards collected in 32 states were also tendered in evidence, the admissibility of which were objected to by defence counsels.
iRev Reports for 12 Local Government in Lagos State were also tendered in addition to supplementary reports for Benue, Cross River and Gombe States.

Presidential Candidate of Labour Party Mr Peter Obi was not present in court. The party was however represented by the Deputy National Chairman, Comrade Ladi Ilya.
Other party officials were also present.

They include the Director General of the campaign, Balogun Akin Osuntokun, North-West Coordinator, Alhaji Audi Mohammed, Campaign Manager, Ambassador Oseloka Obaze and the Labour Party gubernatorial candidate for Imo State, Senator Athan Achonu.

The court has adjourned to tomorrow.
